Hermit Thrush

I photographed this thrush in a local park today while out for a walk. Conditions were overcast, snowing lightly.
D4, 600VR, f4, 1/1000, 500 iso, tripod and Wimberley, full frame. Slight bump in vibrancy then sharpened the bird selectively, that's it. Is the background too busy for you or is this a "bird in habitat"?

A beautiful capture on a splendid perch. Some may think that the BG is a bit distracting but I really like it, 100% natural habitat. :toast:

Nice one, Gary.
I liked the bg, which is not distracting in my opinion. :toast:

Great head turn and sharp detail, nice complimentary color palette Gary.
"Is the background too busy for you or is this a "bird in habitat"?"
Not too busy, your "bird in habitat" works well with the BG softness & subject sharpness here :toast:

Gary - Nice details. The colors of the bird, in general, but especially the tail, came out well. The natural habitat looks good.

I love the bg in this one, Gary. You tamed it just enough tolet the bird stand out while providing plenty of habitat and some nice patterns.

For me the BG is a little busy, but that is primarily because of the dark twigs coming up in back of the head and to the left of the chin. if those weren't there I would have no problem with any of the rest. Great work on the Thrush.

We are now in May. I would like to propose an official ban on the "S" word until November. Even if it is falling, I am now in denial.

Really nice job of isolating this guy with a BG like this one Gary. It really doesn't bother me in the slightest.

The bird is so sharp that your eye goes right to it . I like the BG and yes it is a bird in habitat. Very nice.
