Yellow-headed Blackbird

Finally some decent weather. It seems we have had bad weather since last October. Today I was thrilled to be able to get out and shoot in some excellent light for a change. These Yellow-headed Blackbirds further enhanced my day by performing for me.

Nikon D800, 300 mm lens plus 1.4 teleconverter, f5.6, 1/200, ISO 320, camera resting on the car window.

Thanks for looking and critiques appreciated.

May

Very nice image May. I like the singing pose, eye contact and lighter background. Could go a tad darker and still have detail in the blacks? These guys can be difficult to expose properly in bright light, but this looks fine. Dave

Classic habitat and pose May, I really like how they contort their necks and make that crazy sound! Lovely shot with excellent colour and detail. I understand your feelings about the weather, it actually snowed again here for a little while yesterday - enough already. :frown:

May, nice background! Also, a good job with the exposure. I often struggle reining in the yellow highlights on these guys in sunny weather.
