I like what this should be but somehow isn't. The sky seems too bright for a morning sky and the sun is completely blown out. The detail is really good. I think I would crop the sky by about half and apply a digital ND grad to it by 1.5 to 2.0. I would also apply some shadow back into the foreground.

Whatever is happening in the sky in post processing is killing this photo. I also notice that deep cyan in the cliffs, quite distracting to the over all color balance. This still needs work.

Sure is giving me the overdone HDR vibe, Dan. A little hot and funky for my eye. I agree with Philip, that adding some of the shadow back in the FG would help. Other than that I don't know where I would go with this. :frown:

The foreground looks pretty good for me in terms of composition and processing but it looks like the sky has suffered from being out of the dynamic range of the exposure and pushed too far in recovery.

The fore ground looks great Dan but I agree with Phil. The sky looks far too bright for the light on the fore ground. Maybe double process the raw file just for the sky and mask it in, but seems pretty hot in that sun area.

Agreed Dan, great scene but something is off in the top half. I'm confused by the blue gold line at the right side. Is that a distant mountain meeting the sky?

There is lots you can do to it, but it is great the way it is. Could make suggestions to experiment, but it seems like many have been made. It caught my eye and I love the color. :toast:
