Last night was one of the few nights each year that the full moon can be see rising behind the spires of Cathedral Rock in Sedona, Arizona.
Nikon D600, 300mm f/4 @ f/8, 1/320sec, ISO 100.
Thank you for looking. Feel free to critique openly.

Very nice, Doug. I like the strong, but not overpowering, light on the sandstone. The blue sky contrasts nicely with the orange sandstone. If I were to be really picky I would wish for some separation between the moon and the sandstone formation. But that's being really picky. Excellent work!!

I too wish the moon was a little higher, but otherwise love how this comes together. Brightening the moon to improve its detail might be worth a try.

The colors that make up this comp are just right. I, too, would love to see the moon a bit higher. I like how understated this feels. Very peaceful

Beautiful comp. Love the color.....I'd wish the moon is a bit hiogher in the sky, but that's just not a big deal here. Beautiful image as is

I would pump up the moon, I don't mind it touching, I just think brighter would look good.

Thank you for your feedback. I have other frames where the moon has risen and is no longer touching. I was thinking the slight overlap gave a mental connection between the earth and moon. and a little depth to the image. I will select the moon a try a little added brightness.

Excellent catch, Doug. The light on the rocks is great and the full moon a terrific addition. I do wonder why you didn't wait another 5 - 10 minutes for the moon to clear the rocks, which I see you did in your comment. This is beautiful as is.
