I was in one of our City Parks taking pictures one day when a couple of school kids on an outing came running up too me.... Mr. Mr. Mr. we found something you need too take a picture of. They lead me back too the tree where they found the Moth. After taking a couple of shots I had too show them the digital image on the camera,,, they became more interested is seeing it than watching the Moth on the tree......

Canon D30 & Tamrom 24-135 Macro.

Kieth,

You are now on my MOST HATED LIST. I've been looking for years to find a perfect specimen Luna Moth. But then again, you didn't find it, the children did. Maybe that's not fair  Seriously, nice find. The moth looks really sharp and stands out nicely against the darkness of the tree bark. Envious in Louisiana. :toast:

What a great find - it's nice to have a couple other sets of eyes scoping out for you. I have never seen Luna Moths (except for images) and I am envious as well in Wyoming. Really nice work! :toast:

Nice composition. The colors of the moth and the bark are good complements.

Fantastic Keith!
I'm sooooo jealous....Luna moths have been an icon for me since finding one as a pre-teen. One of the moths I spend summer nights under parking lot lights looking for.
You've caught him perfectly here....well composed and a perfect background for that lovely luna color.....Congratulations! :toast:

These are just wonderful creatures, aren't they? I ran across these occasionally when I was in Virginia, but that was long before I started photography and I haven't seen one since.

I'd love to have taken this shot - I am envious.

I've never seen one, so, like the kids, I'm glad to look at your picture.

Extremely nice. I like all on this shot, not only the moth, that's a really pretty one. Add neat sharpness, suitable BG, perfect exposure and smart composition. Wish this shot was mine... so receive my sincere congrats. Best regards
