This feels so good!

We had a hot spell for a couple of days last week and the Rufous Hummingbirds were looking for a bath. Our water feature sprang a leak and as a temporary measure until I can finish troubleshooting the locations, we dug out a couple of small pumps and ran hoses part of the way up the feature. They're low flow pumps so the water doesn't come out at all fast. The hummingbirds are loving it. This is a bit unconventional, since you really can't see the head clearly, but to me it's all about the action in this one.

1Div, 500mm f4 ISL + 2.0TC, Jobu gimbal on RRS legs, f11, 1/640, iso 500, -2/3 stop compensation, aperture priority. Processed in LR5 & CS6. Cropped to 6.3MP (I think that was the capacity of my first DSLR). I wasn't expecting this action when I set up that evening and when this gal showed up I had some oof foreground foliage and rock to deal with, hence the large crop. Taken May 12th at 7:18 pm.

Your comment and criticisms are always welcome.

Thanks for looking,

I also tried a tighter crop on this one to get rid of more of that dreadful  foreground rock. Here's that version.

Cool behavioral shot Dennis, the hummers sure love the water as it gets hotter..
I was just watching one this evening doing a dance with garden sprinkler

Absolutely hilarious....had no idea they would go under the water spout like this Dennis. I like the repost better without the FG.
