Vermilion Cliffs Sunrise

This was taken last week along US 89A just west of Lee's Ferry. For five days I had been plagued by plain blue skies, but caught this morning with some cooperating atmosphere. Just after sunrise but the light had not yet filled in on the formations. I wanted to achieve the light values on the cliffs as they appeared to my eye. This is comprised of two images: one at 0 EV for the sky and another at +2/3 EV for the scene. Full frame, larger imager included.

Nice Bill. I was also at Lee's Ferry last week. More for fishing than photos. We were camped in the desert out by the edge of of the canyon. Windy, but beautiful. Was this last Sunday AM?

Nice sharp detailed image Bill. The large version makes me feel like I'm standing right there.

I like the sky radiating from the mesa in this Bill. Lots of energy. No suggestions. I like it as posted.

Calm in the wide open. I like the muted but contrasting colors. Sometimes I find images like this much nicer than ones with powerful, sunrise colors

Very nice subdued colors and I like the radiating clouds Bill. I also like it with less sky putting the cliffs more on thirds. But this is very nice as is. Nice job.
