Shot this in 2012 the sunrise was pastel which came out decent but thought I would try it in BW. OK a lop-sided composition but any thoughts on the processing as a BW. It is very contrasty but when I evened it out just a little it had no punch. I also tried a crop that balanced the composition some but prefer the original. Thanks for looking.

I was going to suggest the crop, but I guess you were ahead of me... I really like the peaceful and serene mood you captured here Bruce!

I too like the serenity of this. Hazy still air and quiet waters… a nice moment. I would only suggest cropping half the sky. The shoreline boulders are great. Nice job in B/W.

I think this makes a very subdued B/W. Love the peacefulness presented here. I'm on board with a crop of a good bit of sky, but I can see why you you like it as is. Nice.

Great mood in this Bruce. As the others have suggested I might be tempted to crop the sky but the dark clouds to echo the highlights on the rocks below and that adds interest for me so... I like it as posted.

Thinks this works well in black and white. I would suggest a crop half of the sky. I really like the peacefull scene as presented.

The smoke, haze adds a nice mood to this Bruce and the processing looks very nice. I agree about a crop from the top but it's about what you like. Very nice image either way.

Bruce, This is a wonderful b&w image and I do like your processing on it. It just has a good feel to me. I can see cropping some of the sky as well but do enjoy it as is.
