I have not done very well with Bird images on my recent trips, but hope this is OK.The bird was really too far away and has needed a very large crop about 20% of RAW file.
This was taken in Ruaha National Park, Tanzania

EOS 1SX
200-400 mm F4 with 1.4 EX at 560 mm
F5.6
ISO 800
1/400

Great image, ugly duck. The colors and background are very nice. It held up well for such a large crop. Does this need some CC rotation? Looks like this guys is defying gravity.

Did well with the crop size on this. Who would want a nose like that !!
Interesting shot.

Great specimen photo. Don't you hate when they turn their backs on us? :toast:

Wow, that is one ugly duck. Great photo, though. Amazingly good for that very heavy crop.

Held up really well for the crop Ken. Certainly ugly, but interesting none the less. I'd love to have this in my files.

Detail looks quite good even with the large crop, Ken. Interesting species. You did a nice job capturing the subtle iridescence in the plumage.
