Crossed Trees

Hi Guys & Gals - I need some help on this one. I just bought a used computer (used) to hold me over until I can build a new one, and I'm feeling funny about my sharpening. I'm actually sharpening a good bit less but it looks like I'm sharpening more. I'm still using my old monitor so I don't see why it should change, but...

Please let me know if this is over/under sharpened. Thanks!

Shot this at St. Mark's Wildlife Refuge earlier this year (I think Feb). It shows storm damage from Hurricane Dennis back in 2005. The salt spray killed these trees, but I thought it made an interesting shot.

Critiques and comments are always welcomed and greatly appreciated.

Sharpening looks fine here Bill on my screen. Lately I have been backing off quite a bit too on sharpening. I really like the line here especially the random diagonals.

Bill, although I cannot comment too much on the sharpening being off, it sure looks good to me right now, the image is very nice. It has a soft painterly quality to it. I do not use the painterly term often at all, but this one sure gets that look and feel for me.

I don't see a problem with the sharpening, Bill. I like the shot...who knew dead pines could be so appealing. :toast:

Another gem that perfectly captures the feel of FL. The rich color and soft light are sweet. The sharpening looks fine on my monitor.

Pretty scene Bill, very nice light, natural color and your composition works beautifully. I see no problem with the sharpening what so ever. Beautiful work as always.

Bill, I like this a lot! Wonderful colors and feel to this image. Also excellent composition to my eye and I think the sharpening looks right on the money... Something I struggle with often it seems. Very Nice!

Excellent image, Bill. This does have a real nice painterly look to it. There is a lot to visually explore, but the comp has a real nice cohesion.

The sharpening looks good to me, Bill. It was very interesting watching this image load slowly (our access speed varies quite a bit sometimes), because it started at the top and worked it's way down. That let me see a neat pano version with the skyline at the lower 1/3 point and the bottom half cropped. When the whole image, showed, I like it just as well with the warm grasses and the scattering of greens intermingled with those dramatic dead trunks.

This works for me, Bill. The sharpening looks fine to me. The tones and color also look really nice.

Well done.
