Mono Lake Sunset

My first post in landscape in many moons. Living in Ohio, it's hard to compete and is actually intimidating venturing into this gallery, but here goes. I spent a week in May traveling with my wife between Vegas and Lake Tahoe. Shot icons, mostly, including this sunset at M.L. It was quite windy, precluding reflections, but the clearing sky resulted in some beautiful clouds at sunset. D600, 18-35, GND, TP, f20, 1/8, iso 400. Thanks for looking. Comments, suggestions, and questions welcome. :wavey:

Scott,

I like this a lot. Looks to me like just the right amount of exposure in processing. Love the intricate shapes of the hoodos against the soft sky. No suggestions but I am looking forward to images from the rest of your trip.

Scott, I like this a lot too! The light and clouds look awesome to me and the foreground rock shapes are so interesting to look at. Very nice work!

Well done, Scott! Everything looks clear and softly lit by a serene sky with appropriate color. Nothing staggeringly dramatic here, just a nice, quiet landscape, well seen and well composed. :toast:

I think I'm more intimidated by submitting to the macro gallery. Scott, I think this is a very nice shot from Mono Lake. You got the wind but at least Mother Nature smiled on you for a wonderful sky. Everything is right where it should be for me. Great work. :toast:

Scott, that's a great sky and I like how you've positioned the brightest area above the far hoodoos. I also like the subtle lighting on the hoodoos.

Really nice Scott. Landscape work requires you to get out there & travel to places like this.
Since we don't get out much & work from home, I've put it aside for the most part..

This image is all about the time of day and how you've controlled the light so beautifully.
Rich color, great details, depth, and a gorgeous sky.
A well thought out comp Sir, my hat's off to ya :toast: :toast:

Great image. I like the compostion and the colours. You might consider lightening up the rocks a bit. Just a little bit to get more attention on the rocks.
