Young Kudu Buck
by Nate Chappell
Here's a portrait of a young Kudu from Addo Elephant National Park, South Africa, often the younger animals are more approachable than adults. Photographed from our safari vehicle. Almost full frame, just a small crop from the right.

8 commentsI agree totally with Jerry's comments, very glad to see one of Africa's any beautiful antelope gracing this forum, Africa is so much more than predators
Since it's centered, perhaps a standard frame with less up top would be an option you might explore as well..
It's a tough call though
Beautiful animal, well done
another well done capture with excellent detail. a beautiful and interesting character here

Nice! Love the tip of the tongue sticking out! I haven't seen these in "real life" myself, and find that white band stretching from eye-to-eye to be very striking. The white moustache and goatee are pretty cool too!
The techs on the subject itself seem real solid - and as others have said it definitely has nice detail. I am in agreement with Dennis about the OOF branch on the left doing its best to distract me...but little you could have done about that.
Cheers...
