A beautiful kingfisher Ken. Great detail and what looks like very soft light.

Excellent detail and wonderful soft light on this colorful species, Ken. Only minor nit for me is I think it could be a bit less frame filling.

I agree with Bill wishing for a bit more space all around. Regardless, amazing detail. Well done. Testament to the Canon 200-400 performance at max focal length (almost) with teleconverter engaged.

great bird, Ken! nice pose and awesome details with a sweet bg. could go a little looser if you've got it, but looks great as is too. :toast:

Excellent, Ken. Perfect dof for this bird and great detail, plus an interesting head turn and eye contact. Sweet.

This looks great, Ken. A little tight in the frame, but still a beauty. :toast:

Thanks everybody for your kind comments which are much appreciated. The tight crop is mainly as a result of cropping out a "pesky" branch

Nice head turn, colors and BG. Agree it seems a bit tight, but not sure what kind of room you have.

Aren't these guys gorgeous!
What a great pose he gave you, and sweet light.
Tack-sharp, perfect colours and nice BG - perhaps that dark bit of stuff on the branch could go.. ?
