Hi Everyone! Thanks for your comments on my bighorn picture!

This is two of the young foxes we've been photographing this spring. We actually found two dens this year and have some great pictures of the kits. They are soooo cute!!

I was taking a picture of the fox in the background because he was posing for a really nice portrait when all of the sudden his sibling came over and bit him in the leg! I got a few different pictures of them playing and wrestling but I liked this one because of the one fox looking like he's either surprised or telling his sibling off!

Hope you like it!

I didn't read your title until after I opened the shot and my first thought when seeing the fox's reaction was OUCH. So perfect title and very good job capturing the moment Josiah. I really like the interaction here.

Hi Josiah,

Great title...so appropriate to go along with that "pained" look on the wrong end of the bite! Good action shot - and good timing on your part. In a perfect world it would be nice to have a bit clearer view of the two kits, but with situations like this you have to take what you can (and the most critical parts of the image contributing to the story are unobscured).

Well done and looking forward to more!

Cheers...

Brad

Awesome reaction by the kit being bit. This is a really sweet shot and you just cannot go wrong with fox kits.

Nice one, Josiah! LOVE the look on the kit being bitten! I liked your idea for that title, too! I have to agree with Brad that it would be nice if the hillside didn't block our view of the complete bodies of the kits, but you still snuck this one in there. And even though I would probably prefer to see a little more of the offending kit's eye, I really like that I can see it and some of his expression as well. I also like how the foxes stand out with all their beautiful reds and rusts and oranges from the lush green background. Our eyes go to things that are different, like brighter spots in a picture, or a change in colour or texture, and this frame keeps your eyes right on your subjects and the action that's going on.

Well done!

Thank you for all the nice comments! Hopefully I'll get some pictures of kits playing again next year and get a little better angle. They're so cute!
