While sitting quietly by my pond as the day wound down, the colors and shapes of this lily bloom caught my eye. These blooms open and close every day and only last for two or three days. (5D3, 100mm macro USM + 20mm ET, 1/200s, f6.3, iso 800, handheld, full frame)

Interesting and radical composition. It is well balanced and, although complex with various colors and light, still a strong and coherent image. I like it very much! I had to think about it, but it definitely grows on one. :toast:

Mark - I completely agree with how Phil described this. I'd also add the word Bold here. Just when you think almost all the compositions have been exhausted, someone comes along to show we were dead wrong. Simply love this. Lovely take.

Well seen and taken, Mark. Very original. I like the lines, shapes, layers, and colors - i.e., the abstract quality. Cropping this just below the large oof white highlight in the bg adds to the abstract look. I am not saying this is better, just a different and more abstract look which appeals to me. :toast:

Very nice, you have turned it up a notch with this beauty.
The elements in this image are excellent but the lighting is outstanding . . .

I thought this must be a bird of paradise from the thumb, Mark ! Beautiful balance to the composition, with the soft, circular reflections of different strengths playing so nicely against the bold, sharp forms of the flower. Very creative !!!

Stunning Mark. Very original. Love the comp and color. I thought it was a banana flower looking at the thumbnail. Very nice!
