Photographed on our Trinidad and Tobago tour. I posted a flight shot of this species earlier. This one is perched near the fruit feeders that they come to at Cuffie River Lodge.

Canon 5D3 500F4 1.4x 1/200 F8, iso 1000, 580ex fill flash at -2.3

Nice pose and a great perch and background to work with. A pity we can't see the back side of those tail feathers, but at least it's a nice full tail!

Those tail feathers are sweet. Nice job getting this in the frame Nate. Imagine it's not as easy with those long feathers. Love the colors as well.

Good pose, and lovely colors. I would have cropped a little more off the bottom to place more emphasis on the colorful head end of the bird, especially given that you don't have the colorful dorsal side of the tail. Although I can see some feather detail, to my 83 year old eyes a little brighter image would improve it. However, apart from these minor nits, I think your photo is beautiful. Thanks, Ron

Love the colors here, the deep green background and bright feathers of the birds head. Excellent detail Nate, excellent shot.

Motmot? My, my! Really nice dusky colors, good head turn and eye contact. The BG is superb, if a bit dark for my tastes.

Yikes this is really good Nate. I love the relatively clean background and the perch is just right. The tail feathers are incredible. What a beautiful bird. Larger image shows really good detail. :toast: :toast:

Excellent detail and a sweet pose, Nate. The lines of the perch and the bird work well together.

I like the comp, and very nice, subtle use of fill flash.
