This is a shot of the same outlier bird I posted from Sunday. Because of the constructive comments I received from many of you, I under exposed the image to dampen the yellow and resolved the exposure issue with Lightroom, PSCC14, NIK and TK. If you don't like the image, please email Keith Bauer. He and I processed this together in a tutoring session.

Nikon D4 Nikkor 600mm ISO500 1/4000 f/8 RAW White Balance Auto Tripod, Wimberley Gimbal

Comments are welcome and appreciated, I was just kidding about emailing Keith... unless you really want to. :toast:

Well, I for one won't be emailing Keith unless it were to say amazing job in helping you absolutely nail this one!!

Just fabulous, Patrick! I honestly wouldn't change a thing and IMO this is a significant improvement over what was already a nice image (your first post). I love the colours and tones, perch and pose, techs...everything. Two thumbs up and then some.

Patrick,
This is a great improvement on the earlier post, now all I need to do is find one in their native land

Nice and crisp Patrick. I agree with what the other reviewers said about this post compared to your first version of this bird :wavey: .............................Jim

Wonder what would happen if I sent an e-mail to myself and complained

I like the image. Great bird that I've never had the opportunity to see. Glad we worked this in our session this week. I think the results look good!

Patrick,
Sharp and beautifully processed. The exposure looks spot on. At least on my monitor. I love the background and the perch. Nice image!! Funny comment about Keith as well. You should thank him because it's a masterful job of processing. Are you taking copious notes. :))) Are you remembering anything? Looking forward to our shoot next weekend. It should be fun.

Very nice, Patrick. The processing looks very good on this one with nice detail except in the darkest blacks where you wouldn't expect it anyhow. Nice pose and habitat.

Very nice, Patrick; much improved over your earlier post.

Is this an escaped bird or is there a feral population in Southern California? I know the Orange Bishop has a feral population.

Jim,
This is one of two birds I have heard about. The other was sighted at Bolsa Chica. From where they came is a mystery.

Nice image Patrick. I like how the lower OOF plants in the BG help to frame the bird. Great colors and comp.
