Not sure what this blue jay was doing , maybe a little of both. Unfortunately its head was in dark shadow. Not where I could use a flash to fill in shadows.

Neat behavior and pretty decent detail, John. I think you could make this image pop a bit more if you selected just the eye and brightened it up a bit-it looks like there's enough light in it to play with.
