I like what you are trying in this photo, I do think you need to darken the sun some if you can. To me it overwhelms the image. Thanks for sharing.

Emily: Nice out of the box shot. I also like this with the sun cropped away completely showing just the strongly backlit FG. Well seen and captured. >=))>

Nice quote from the Pooh guy. I agree with Bill. The sun is a bit much.

Emily - I like the idea you were after. I like the presence of the sun in the frame but if possible I'd have tried to tame it using a GND Filter and showed it as a real circle in the sky.

Now that's a challenge! I think the result is pretty cool. Lots of California sun on a mess of blooming foliage! Refreshingly natural. The sun doesn't get me as much as the clouds/rays, although that, too, is part of the good craziness in this shot. A brave post, Emily. Can't wait to see what you do next!

I do agree with Bill on trying a crop Emily, but, I like this as is also. It has a very natural feel to it. Keep them coming, we look forward to more.

Thank you all for the feedback and suggestions! I like the variety of opinion very much - it's good to confuse a photography student now and then! I will definitely make use of my ND filter next time, thanks Ram. Here is a version with the sun cropped away. Thoughts?
