Agalinis purpurea were in bloom in this tiny remnant of lake plain prairie out behind where I work. Windy conditions made for some difficult shooting during my 1/2 hour lunch time. I took a series of 26 shots hoping that I'd get the complete flower in focus. Here's the result of the stack--not perfect, but will provide motivation to get another set of shots on a more optimal day for photography. K5 IIs, 300mm f4, 30mm extension (ISO 320, 1/100sec at f/18) LR exposure +1, Pmax 26 images, CS5 Levels, Topaz In Focus, Topaz Detail, Rotate Image 8 deg CW, Crop for comp....................Jim

Lovely look at this flower, Jim. I like how you've placed it in the frame and kept the background nicely soft.

Looks like you had some work putting this together. F/18 sounds like a wind factor, or was this because of the narrow dof on the 300mm lens with the 30mm ext on it? Did you sort out the closest matches before you sent it to Zerene? A credible job, considering the circumstances. :toast:

Jim - I do not understand much of this stacking but whatever you did worked well. Nice clean background and pin sharp flowers !!. The large green background really helps the flowers pop.

Wonderful work Jim. The separation of subject to background is superb.

Even if you are not fully sarisfied it seems to me a very good work. The color tonality of the flower is splendid.
Take care.
