Ray,

The larger version is a must see. I like the composition and the angle at which the skimmer is flying to the camera. The background has enough soft texture and adds depth to the image :toast: ............................Jim

Lovely BG that gives a great sense of habitat, especially nice POV Ray.
The FG grasses & pipefish help to take this over the top.
U nailed the exposure, techs look excellent! :toast: :toast:

Very nice image - and well focused - not that easy with such a background I presume. Congrats with this excellent result ! Cheers, Hans

What a fine look at this skimmer in flight, with prey.

Excellent, Ray. Nice crisp image throughout and I like the tuft of grass in the foreground. The bokeh on the bg grass is perfect.

Great light and detail. Very sharp and the dof causes the bird to pop from the background.

What a great frame. Needs to be looked at in the larger size to be appreciated. The fish looks great and I like the good detail and eye contact. The habitat looks fantastic too. Well done

Capturing the shot as the foreground came into focus on the same plane as the subject is a bonus. Usually the reeds would be blurred but not in this shot. Very nice. "Don't shoot till you see the whites of their eyes," worked in this case.
