Apostlebirds

Happy families - mum, dad (holding 'hands') and the kid. Apostlebirds get around in noisy squawking groups. Open woodlands of inland eastern Australia.

Another real winner Rob. Great DOF and comp on this. Great to get all with the same head turn direction. Nice work again! :toast:

Rob, nice job using enough DoF to get them all sharp. I think that's the biggest challenge in group portraits like this, and you nailed it.

So I'd like to know how you manage to get then posing on cue. Nice light and perch, and the poses are terrific. Very cool shot and great techs as always Rob.

Excellent, Rob. I love the overlapped feet and it's great that you got them all lined up at the right angle.

Great the way they are perched together so tightly. The feather detail is remarkable. Excellent shot.

Hi Rob - honestly it's very hard to comment on your avian images without sounding way over the top with superlatives and compliments. Your standard is exceptional...you are clearly one of the finest avian photographers of the day, IMO. This one is not only another example of that, but takes it up another level. This is a standout image on every level. There is so much to love here, right down to the fact they're holding hands, posing shoulder-to-shoulder with perfect catchlights on a great perch against a very pleasing background. This one sits on top of the top shelf.
