Rattlesnake in Winter

Shot this view of Rattlesnake Ridge a few winters ago. Didn't like it in color at all so now that my interests have broadened to BW I thought I'd take another go at it. One of the most difficult images in regards to sharpening I've dealt with. The contrasts of the tree against the sky definitely tested my skills. Processed in Adobe RAW, NIK SEP, and PS CS5. Thanks for looking.

How do I remove the black border from the 720px version? The hex color table isn't working.

Love the composition Bruce. I like the energy and drama in the scene as well. No suggestions. I like it very much as posted.

Bruce, this is a wonderful composition with drama and interest. Processing looks great; very cool in B&W.

Easy to remove the black border. Go to edit. Where you see the current Hex value of 000000, copy over it with ffffff. That is the value for white.

Very nice composition and tones adding some nice drama Bruce. Slight bit of haloing around the tree but not a deal breaker. Nice B&W processing also. Great job.

You captured lots of drama Bruce, along with a very nice mood, excellent processing, and your composition works beautifully.

Very nice B&W, Bruce. You did a good job with tones, and the sharpening looks perfect to me.
