This started out as a Lensbaby® capture. It had a lot of mistakes: DOF, distracting highlights, etc. But I liked the theme, so decided to experiment with all the effects I could think of that would simplify and artistic improve this image.

I used Ps5 artistic filters, NIK Viveza and Sharpener, did a lot of cloning, local fills of color, and hand blending-- most of the cloning on the front petal of the baby rose.

I'd be pleased to know how it comes across. Thanks for your comments.

Catherine - Parent keeping an eye on the kid is perhaps what this reminds me of. It sure comes across as a pretty nice shot. Have you tried textured backgrounds ?

Very pleasing image with sweet colours. I might smooth the diagonal line across the long stem..

Nice theme and comp with the large flower "protecting" the small one. Your processing work paid off. The image is very pleasing with beautiful color and nice detail in the small flower.

I'd say that your title covers it very well. The details in the "bud" work well and the sense of protection from the larger oof flower works very well...what a cool "fix".
