Ronald, I think your comp works quite nice and as Bill mentioned the detail looks great. I also like the textures you have here. It looks just a bit to sharp on my monitor but that might just be me and how I look at it. I do have my reading glasses on.... Cheers, Nick

Ronald, I like this composition. Especially the diagonal of the main downed tree. I might think a crop from the left side here to make the log a perfect corner on the upper end would add to the look . But, not at the expense of losing the balance on the two sides with the amount of ferns. Anyway, just thinking out loud on that. Not too sure on the over-sharpening mentioned, with this much detail in the ferns it might just be compression providing that look. It depends upon what quality it did save at as to whether that was a an item or not.

Another good shot from that area! Comp, light and texture all look nice. I personally don't get a feel for over-sharpening, just a lot of forest floor detail, which is very natural looking for our rainforest environment. I think you captured the look quite well.

Love the strong diagonals and the wonderful patterns of the ferns. I could see warming some of the blue tones in the greens but that is simply a matter of taste. Nicely done.
