Under the Maples

I was chased out of the forest today by rain. Made it home just before the downpour. I did manage to shoot this one lonely scene.
Taken with Sony A99 and sigma 105

This looks very good to me. The blurred bkg has interesting structure, not simply total, abstract OOF. The in-focus leaves at top counterbalance the mushroom nicely too.

I like this very much. To me, this portrays not only a mood, but a specific mood of damp, decay and the season. I like the sense of a real background and the balance of the composition, with the lone mushroom occupying the right third line, the overhead maple sapling framing and the OOF colored leaves in the upper left third position. A well thought out composition. :toast:

I like the vast feeling of the world that you have captured here Gary. Nice, earthy colors and a great BG.

Gary: Even the thumbnail grabs one's attention. Good vision to see and compose this. A touch more room on the bottom would be my only siggestion but that's picking a 1¢ nit. Most excellent.>=))>

Gary - Great work framing the tiny mushroom with colored leaves and the branch. Works well as presented. This shot is moody and a bit of brightening might present another mood as well.

Fantastic! I LOVE this! The form of the maple tree is a graceful accompaniment to the mushroom sheltering under it. Just a couple suggestions: soften the one leaf in the ulc; ease the brightness out of the area on the right side. Splendid!
