Namaqualand in South Africa is famous for a burst of flowers in the Spring, unfortunately it is also famous for poor weather.
Here is a small section of the coastal plain in Namaqualand National Park, South Africa.

Ken: Looks like a target rich environment for a flora photographer! I like this scene and the large version is a must see. A bit more contrast/saturation would suit me a little better but this does work for me as is. Well done.>=))>

Such a lovely scene! Beautiful flowers all over. I like this image, but I agree with Bill that more contrast might make this even better.

Ken - Looks like a great place  - wonderful carpeting with colorful blooms. Would be great to see some close-ups also if you have them

Thanks for the comments, I should explain that I am not a landscape photographer, and have little or no experience in Flower photography.
This was mainly a trip to see what this area was like, I have many more including a few close ups which I have still to process. Unfortunately everything there is weather dependent, and our visit was plagued by dull days. :frown:

 "A small section of coastal plain..." How far does this magnificence extend? The large version does the scene justice; the detail is much more apparent. I, too, like the idea of a touch more contrast... or, tonal contrast in the greens, as there are many tones of green there. Saturation looks nice.

Catherine,

The park itself is 7,000 sq km
We mainly visited the area along the coast which is roughly 70 km long, not all of it is covered by flowers
