Another from my archive: This is the same formation as my previous image. At the time, I wanted a wider view of this interesting area.

Please see the large version. Thanks!

Well seen, Preston. I like the nice strong line, detailed textures, and color variety in the formation.

This has a great sense of flow. Well-seen subset of the scene.

I initially thought this would be a waterfall Preston. I think this is about as much sense of energy and flow as it's possible to get in an image of a rock face. Strong composition and superb presentation. I like the image very much.

Preston, I like this one even better, and I thought the previous one was excellent. Looks like a waterfall made out of stone. Very nice! :toast:
edit: I see Pat had the same thoughts on this while I was posting mine. Cool.

Preston, as already stated this has the look of a waterfall or cooled lava flow from the angle of view you shot this. The perspective works perfectly for this scene. Nicely seen view and resulting photo.

I like this better than the other. this is a view that implies perspective, while the other is flat. On both the texture and pattern in the rock is interesting. I also like the inclusion of the bits of foliage and dry grass. :toast:

the textures and patterns of the rock formations have created a wonderful sense of flow to this scene, Preston. Great eye to spot this.

Crud, Preston, this is so good that I feel at a loss for words. Your composition has perfectly captured the flow of the rock, giving such amazing movement that one gets the sense that the rock was actually flowing. Beautiful range of colors and textures as well. Exquisite.

II like this one better! More going on in the rocks and nice focus on the central lighter rocks.

Preston, really like the flow to this. Very nice color and texture, and I'm glad you included the foliage, it really brings the scene together beautifully. Beautiful work.

Excellent, Preston. I love the "granite waterfall" look and great colors. I think I know the location, too.

This is great, Preston. It has a fine sense of flow, like a water fall, that gets pulled back to reality with the grasses at the bottom. In comparing this with your previous post, I prefer this view with the strong sense of motion.

I really think that this is your finest abstract, or at least granite abstract. Perhaps the finest waterfall that is not, like ever. :toast: :toast:
