End of the Red Wolf?

The red wolf has been a controversial species since the recovery program was developed. The USFW is considering closing the recovery program and is "fast tracking" the program. The public comment period which was scheduled to close Sept. 12 has been extended to Sept. 26. I have not been able to find why this project is under review, but told it may have to do with budget, but may also involved state politics in North Carolina. Obviously I have a personal interest in the project having brought red wolves to the Miller Park Zoo in Bloomington, Il over 20 years ago.

Photo is of a captive wolf at the Miller Park Zoo. I thought the looking over his shoulder pose implied he was looking to see what fate was closing in.

John,
I was unaware that the Red Wolf Program was potentially closing and are so glad you have brought this to our attention. Anyone wanting to help can find out additional information HERE . hurry because time is running out.
This post should be the poster for this situation with the sad expression and looking over his shoulder pose as you mentioned.
Thanks again John, excellent post for Environmental PJ.
