Definitely less minimalist than the other one, this image of Etosha Pan,was taken in the far more scenic area along the aptly named Pans Edge Drive.
EOS 1D MkIV
24-105 mm F4 at 25 mm
F7.1
ISO 800
1/6400
I must really remember to reduce my ISO for shots like this

I like the gradient in the sky Ken and the fg detail. Coming from the plains, I also like the sense of space. I'd enjoy this image printed large on my wall.

Coming from the land of marshes, liveoaks and wide expanses of forest, I'd like a little more maximum in my minimalists. Actually, this is a great deal like the marshes of Glynn South of me; wide expanses of salt marsh and sky, and little else.

My reaction to this and your previous post are very interesting (at least to me,). The extra grasses at the bottom and the bit of hillside on the left put this firmly in the "reality" category. As such, this is clearly a desolate region, but it doesn't feel nearly as desolate as your previous post and that has me feeling there's too much sky here. Yes, this could be a prairie sky from the western USA or a salt marsh from the coasts, but it leaves me wishing for clouds in the sky.

After looking at your pervious image, I think I prefer it to this one. I think the foreground vegetation takes something away from the expansiveness. This is one of those images where you can explore different crops.
