Lickety

As this didn't happen quickly, I dropped the split from the term. I'm amazed how many of my photos has a deer's tongue out that I didn't see through the view finder. In this case, I think the tongue helped the image. Young buck early in the morning. Little drops of water still on the veg from first rain of the season. As the deer was above me, it made for a POV to shoot up and therefore got the head clear of the immediate veg. A real plus for me. Because of the early light, I had to up the exposure without making the BG and sky too bright. I also toned down the highlights and whites and added contrast and a touch of saturation and clarity. Also warmed the photo just a little bit. I would appreciate your comments and critiques. Oops, almost forgot that I cropped this a bit to reduce the amount of bright sky and some of the veg (mostly to the left).

I like it very much Peter, the colors and comp are nice and the tongue is a nice touch.

I would tighten the crop on this nice shot of a buck. The OOF plant on the left is a distraction. I also like how you caught the tongue! Thanks for sharing.

I like the view of the young buck. That said, the oof plant on the left side is a major distraction, to my eye. Regarding warmth, the difference between sunlight and shade is huge here. I think you can make this some better by selectively warming just the bottom half of the image a bit.
