WC 655-- Zip

Gallery: Weekly ChallengePosted October 3, 20141,030 views8 comments

This is my neighbor's dog, who happens to be my dog's best friend and playmate. Zip is a Border Collie, who hardly ever takes his eyes off of his owner, Henry, except when playing. Here he's resting after play.

Panasonic Lumix GH3, Lumix G-Vario 35-100 @ 48mm, handheld; f7.1, 1/320, ISO 800.

Love those eyes. Border collies are intense and this one looks like it is enjoying a moment of rest..........................Jim

This is a very cute picture Catherine, but the weekly challenge runs from Sunday 12 AM to Saturday 11:59 PM. You're a tad ahead of schedule.

So cute Catherine! The seed-head resting on Zip's forehead adds a nice touch. My dog is part border collie, and even when "resting" they are so ready to just bounce right back up - I kind of see that in his eyes too

Beautiful, natural portrait Catherine. I love the reflections you captured in the eyes.

Nice reality shot, Catherine. Black and white dogs can be difficult to get right but the exposure is perfect in this shot. I like the detail in the eyes plus I think I can see your reflection.

Catherine, this is a VERY sweet portrait of Zip! You've captured so much of his kind and playful personality in this image through the wonderful look at his eyes and the fun pose. The foxtail adds some nice character to the surrounding grass as well, even though I flinch whenever I see dogs and foxtail together (we had a HORRIFIC run this summer with our dogs and black speargrass, a cousin to this species which also can be very problematic for dogs). Great shot!
