A gorgeous sunrise in the Mara Triangle (Kenya) from two weeks ago - even though our group of photographers was hard on the scout for lion movement at the crack of dawn, we couldn't help but stop and capture this magical moment.

Single exposure and no clipping on either end of the histogram - man I love this D800 sensor! :D

Beautiful image Morkel. I'd be hard pressed to imagine that a painter could improve on it. Love the halo around the sun and the trees in silhouette. Wonderful mood to this as well. No suggestions.

With regard to the 800, I agree. I rarely feel like I need to bracket exposures anymore. The sensor in the 810 is supposed to be even slightly better per DXOMark's eval.

Very moody--almost dream-like. A little more detain the darks would be nice, but I think this works well as-is.

The simplicity works very well here Morkel and the comp and colors produce a very peaceful image. Like this a lot.
