Ricketts Glen SP, PA

I made a trip to Ricketts Glen SP for the fall foliage, but was a little early as very little change had occurred. The pickings were a little slim with the low flows and low color change, but I did manage to get a couple of keepers.

This is some of the beautiful cascades along Ganoga Glen with a backdrop of the 13'Oneida Falls.

As always thanks for taking a look and leaving a comment or suggestion.

I like the composition with the criss-crossing cascades and the deep background. The foreground looks a bit dark to me, along with the water. Maybe a little less blue in the water too?

This is really nice Ed. Great comp and the water treatment is perfect for my tastes. Those leaves on the fg rocks are just icing. I would bring up the whites in the water a touch and maybe the shadows - not sure about the shadows though. The blues look fine to me - I don't see any in the water. (smile) I like this image a lot.

Pretty waterfall and color scene. I would be tempted to back way off on the cyan in hue/sat, which will balance the water and pop the other colors quite a bit?

I just saw Harley's comment and agree. Now that he's made the comment, I can see the cyan.

Wonderful mood and flow to this Ed and the water exposure looks perfect to me. I really like the darker processing in this and I would be printing this large. Great job on this. :toast:

I like your composition a lot, Ed. You've got nice detail in the leaves, and the reverse S-curve leads me into the rest of the image. The lower 2/3 is a bit dark, and I too see the cyan cast. This a nice Autumn mood.

Ed, I like your comp here and the flow of water looks great. The background light also looks very inviting. I see the cyan tint as well and feel it would be even better with that dropped back some. A wonderful image with a great feel.

Excellent view from this spot, Ed. The composition is excellent and with a thought of any change on the blue / cyan it should really make the colors throughout come to life here. Nice work on this one.

The comp and lighting provide a nice flow to the image Ed. I really enjoy this one, but I tend to agree with playing with the cyan in this image to see how it affects the image as a whole.

Beautifully seen image :)

Home run Ed, beautiful fall scene. Leaf clutter and all the falls in the image works perfectly. Maybe a slightly faster shutter to give some texture to the bottom right corner would be my only idea for improvement, but that is just the way I like to view water. Fine all around :toast:

This is lovely, Ed. I really like the sprinkle of colored leaves at the bottom and how the stream zig-zags back to the falls. Your ss choice also looks good.

Thanks for your thoughts folks; they are always appreciated. Here is a repost with 10 points of cyan taken out and the FG lightened up a little. I forgot to mention this earlier, but kudos to my brother Mike for pointing out this spot to me.

Wonderful image, Ed. The foreground cascades and colorful leaves are great compositional elements that draw the eyes up thru the image to Oneida Falls in the bg. :toast:

Ed, the repost has the colors poping nicely with the cyan pulled down.

For me it's my hiking partner brother Tom. Although not a photog at all, he was an excellent artist in school. So, he has the eye.

Great texture of the water in the falls areas. I especially like the group of colorful leaves on the bottom left. A very nice spot to sit and watch the water.
P.S. Noticed the repost and like it better. The change in cyan is the most noticeable and notable of the changes. Nicely done.

Incredible composition and I like the shutter speed a lot. The fall colors in the foreground add a lot - I agree that it does look too dark though
