Thanks for the comments and suggestions on the previous two images. At the risk of boring everyone, here's one last alternate comp from this sunrise shoot. For this image, I moved back to the other side of the stream. (You can see where I was "perched" on the left directly above the stream for the previous two images). I like this comp as well, and I am sort of kicking myself for maybe not shooting from here to begin with when the sky was a bit nicer. Single image, D600, 18-35 @18, f22, iso 50, .3, cpl, GND. Thanks for looking. Comments, suggestions, and questions welcome. :wavey:

There's a lot more FG interest in this version, I actually like this one best of all Scott.
Don't be too hard on yourself, the journey's often just like this stream.
It will always find the path of least resistance
No suggestions, excellent work :toast: :toast:

I think I also like this one the best (but all work well). This one seems to bring my attention from the foreground through the image and to the peak the best.

I like this the best, too. It has a nice sense of space and place.

Well seen.

No need to kick yourself as this is a beautiful shot and very nicely composed. The plant, stream, layered rocks, golden trees and lit mountains in the background work wonderfully here. I like this one best!

I like this one the best Scott as the mountain is more open and the light seems better on the mountain. Nice flow to the comp and a nice balance to the scene. Very well done.

Yep, this is the best comp for me. I like the tuft of foreground grass as a starting point for the visual journey into the image and the leading lines of the rock and stream. I'd be tempted to boost the saturation of the yellows in the trees but just fine as presented.

Scott,

Here's another vote for this one as my favorite. I think this one has more of a sense of mystery about it. Probably because of the deeper and more prevalent shadows, especially in the lower left. This one just has more mood. Interesting that a reduction in the information conveyed would create a more interest - at least for me.

Scott, really like the way you composed this, a lot more FG leading the eye to the beautifully lit peaks, this one would also be my favorite. Excellent work.

I like this version the best, Scott, there a fine "pull eyes right along the stream and then back left to the peak", which creates a strong dynamic feeling and a fine you are here sense. Speaking for myself, with some regularity my favorite image(s) from the first download and process session are not my favorites a couple of weeks or months later.

This one is my favorite of the comps. I think the light is still nice in this one. It might be worth brightening the deep shadows in the lower left hand corner as it kind of pulls my eye a little. I think just a little brighter would do the trick.

Yes, the clouds are a little less dramatic in this version. But it's still a fantastic composition. I like the more direct view of the cascade, and the added interest of the clump of grass in the foreground.

One more vote for this as my favorite. Love the diagonal lead in of the stream and I think the whole image has a very balanced feel. Very nice, Scott.

Scott,

This image has the best balance out of the other posted shots. The image is just composed beautifully, and I am really brought into the image with the placement of the foreground falls. Lets not forget to mention the beautiful light on the peaks above.

This one is a winner

I too like this one the best, Scott. I particularly like the way the water cuts through the scene at a diagonal along with the light on the rock face. Beautiful work.

Definitely the best comp out of the images so far. I like how the sandstone peak is more prominent and much more visible than the previous versions. FG is still really good too.
