Another image while backpacking in Zion. This one taken from the trail that goes through this canyon below the west rim. Like Wayne's recent posts, I had to work with some dead trees. D600, 24-85 @ 42, 1/50, f14, iso 400. Comments, suggestions, and questions welcome. :wavey:

The dead tree in the foreground fits right in here, Scott. You've got a terrific collection of colors both in the trees and in the rocks.

Very nice! This really has that distinctive Zion aura. The little ledge on the right with foliage is a nice element which adds interest.

There are so many different looks in Zion, and all of them are distinctive. Very nice, Scott. Love the collection of textures and colors.

I like the dead tree Scott. For my eye it's a great complement to the rich colors throughout the image. I like this very much. No suggestions.

I love how you structured the image with vertical trees through out the frame Scott. The colors are so vibrant and crisp, and the Rock wall provides some sweet contrast.

I like this a lot

Really nice colors and textures throughout Scott and I really like the growth up in the face. Really nice find.

I sure like the colors and textures, but it feels a bit chaotic maybe. Even in the larger version I feel like there's no place to rest. It certainly captures the fall-color-in-Zion sense, but I wonder if there's a tighter comp that could convey this better.

Thanks, Tony. Just the type of critique I appreciate. Actually, I do have a tighter comp. I thought I'd post this wider viewer view first. :wavey:

I think this works well, Scott. In this particular case the dead tree doesn't dominate the scene and grab my attention. I love those reds!!

Beautiful autumn scene, Scott. Love how you anchored the composition with the large dead tree on the left, and that neat little grotto in the upper right hand corner. Outstanding.

Love the color, wow man
The dead tree FG left works nicely IMO.
Love the passage with its great added interest, it's a 'hole in one'
Well done! :toast:
