Sunset Showdown

I was anchored off the channel enjoying a beer and the sunset when the Osprey swooped down from a tree on the river bank behind me and splashed into the water no more than 8 feet in front of the boat. He came up with a firm grasp on the fish and started gaining altitude while shaking off water. I grabbed my camera and started tracking the Osprey when the Eagle appeared in the viewfinder also. I managed 3 shots before their dogfight carried them across the channel and out of range. Full frame, hand held from boat.

Hey Mike - Thanks for posting in Photo Art Gallery, but I'm going to move "Sunset Showdown" over to the Avian Gallery.

It's not often that silhouettes make such a compelling capture and there's no doubt as to what's happening. The colors in the sky are dramatic. Congrats. Richard
