Lowest elevation in North America in Death Valley.
I went twice, once in very early morning and this one I took at Midday.
I actually preferred this as I think the Harsh light was more fitting to the location.

This has a very desolate feeling and very good depth to the image. I might be tempted to crop the dark area off the bottom of the image and make a little more of a pano.

I like the sense of space and other worldliness in this Dan. The sky and mountain on the right look a little dark to me but that may just be the light here. Love the reflection. Neat image.

Looks very good for a midday take, Dan. In fact, for the time of day it is not blown out at all. I think I'd take a different tone on the sky however, it looks too dark to me.
Not sure when you were here Dan or when you took this. I was here only a few weeks back now.

The sky and clouds do look too dark for a harsh mid-day light. Have you tried a b+w conversion on this?

This does look stark and desolate, Dan. The reflection of the ridge on the right is a fine subtle addition. I agree that the sky looks too dark given the brightness of the foreground.

Dan, This is a cool looking image. I find this view really interesting and like the detail and textures you have here, I agree the sky looks a little dark and wonder if you good bring the white up some in the clouds. Nice work and I like the desolate feel this has.

Very stark and lonesome looking. I agree that the sky is too dark and the clouds could be brought up quite a bit without loss of detail.

Sooo, many years ago, a few friends were here, imbibing in some ______ (fill in the blank). In such a case, we were high friends in low places. :-)

Nice and stark. The mid-day light is working here. I agree about the sky being too dark for the scene. I like the idea of a B&W and bump the contrast a bit? Both versions would work well. Nicely done.

Man, this image shows off why not much can live there in DV. The light is working for you in regards for that kind of desolate feeling, and I think a b&w conversion could work for this image too Dan. Also, I agree with bringing out the sky a bit more.

I like this image for it's representation of the true nature of itself.
Nicely captured
