That's really a different shot. Don't think I've ever seen a lion in other than a fallen, dead tree. There's soft light on his face with plenty of detail and he's nicely framed. Only nit would be to darken the leaves on the rhs of the frame a bit. Great nonetheless. Richard

Hey Ken,
This is an excellent portrait of this young male. The framing and detail are sweet but the lighting you managed is what makes this image for me.
Well done . . . :toast:

I think that this is a very cool image of a very cool cat

You've really handled the overall scene very well, Ken. :toast:

Like it a lot. Excellent framing. I would have been tempted to zoom in more. That light in the eyes!

Hey Ken,

Despite a lot of potential distractions in this shot it works quite well - and the eyes are very enchanting. Even tho' the light is soft, I think the image - and in particular the subject - is a little lacking in contrast.

Cheers...

Nicely done Ken! I like that you don't often see lions in trees and this one is very nicely framed with great light. Judging by all the great posts you've made since picking up the 200-400 from Canon I take it you really like that lens.

Brad,
The contrast on this seems OK for me, but then I prefer the scene to be as near as possible to actuality and you do not tend to get high contrast this late in the evening
Joseph,
Certainly it is the best lens I have ever had
