I recently returned from a trip to the Czech Republic where I photographed a mix of travel, cityscapes, rural landscapes and wilderness scenes.

This sort of forest is quite easy to find the CZ but I lucked out with the misty conditions.

Strong composition, rich textures and beautiful layers of color. It's the mood created by the mist that I like most though.

Very nice. Scenes like this are more difficult than many know how to frame, but you've done it nicely, and the mist gives it a really nice depth.

Good color and astounding depth to this. The texture of the forest floor and the clean boles of the trees keeps out the bulk of any heavy branching, making for a strong, clean and pleasing image. It has almost a "come hither" feel to it!

Really like the vibrant colors in the soft light. The perfect contrast to the blue grays of the fog.

The vibrant colors contrast nicely with the mellow mood created by the fog. You have framed this up beautifully, there is such a nice depth to this fine image.

composition and exposure are outstanding. i can see the edge is a little bit shaken, how was your shutter speed? was there a tripod or handheld ?

Thanks for the feedback guys. Dan I played around with the colour balance a bit and ended up reworking it from scratch when I decided that a cool balance was needed in the fog, which seemed to reflect my recollection of the conditions late in the day anyway. Waleed, this was shot on a tripod, shutter speed 0.8s. There's certainly no camera shake issues here, softness at the edges is due to the fog.

I think that the contrast between the subdued misty background and the strong colors of the leaves and bushes works very well. It is a moody, peaceful image!
