Botany Bay Beach, SC

The clouds were exceptionally beautiful this particular morning on Botany Bay Beach, SC. This image was a bit of a pain to work on as
I had to clone out six other photographers and a couple of jet contrails. Still a superb way to start of the day.

A truly engaging atmosphere, I think that the receding clouds work very well with the foreground tree. I'd say that the hard work was well worth the result!!

Sorry about those pesky photographers! Looks like it was worth the effort to me, Ed. The silhouettes work perfectly for the scene and the exposure plus colors are very natural. The large version is particularly nice as it has much greater presence and feels more 3D.

Beautiful image Ed. I particularly like the composition and mood of it. The processing looks good too. No suggestions on my part. I'd say the cloning work was certainly effective and worth the effort.

Outstanding, Ed. I agree the work was worth the effort. An original image with a nice comp and fine elements. :toast:

Ed, This is really nice! I think your comp works great and I very much enjoy the mood. That sky works so well for this scene. Well worth the extra work you had to put into it. Excellent! :toast:

nice, Ed. This has a haunting and spacious feel to it. I think the patch of water around the main tree adds a bit of spice, which I like. You did a great job on this.

very nice, Ed. I think it could stand a tad more exposure and saturation.

Hi Ed,

This is a really beautiful capture of this area. The balance is great, and the trees provide a strong structural element. A beautiful job in processing this image, and I think it is top notch work. I would say this is an amazing way to start the day!!!

well seen and captured Ed. I like how you took the time to compose the scene so the smaller tree on the right doesn't merge with the main tree. :toast:

The large version took me right to the beach, Ed. The separation of the trees is right on. My favorite part of the image is the little pool of water under the tree draining out to sea and tying the scene together. I also like the fact that is not overly processed and feels completely natural. Beautiful work.

Wonderfully framed Ed and as you say, beautiful sky. Great job on the cloning.

Those tree shapes against that great sky are wonderful, Ed. Getting that bit of space between the main tree and the one to its right looks like a challenge also.
