Spotted this squirrel setting in just the right spot as I was driving out of Funks Grove in central Illinois. Got several quick shots before it jumped down and dashed off deeper into the trees.

Canon PS SX60
1/320 @ F-8 ISO500
Canon 3.8-247 @ 247mm. HH
Full frame, no crop, converted from RAW
Some noise reduction and sharpening.

Nice photogenic squirrel, John. A classic position. Lots of nice color in this guy. He looks nice and warm in his fur coat. Good eye to spot him while driving around and glad he held his pose for a few shots.

Hi John,

That is one roly-poly fox squirrel. I like the pose and composition, but I would try to tone down the bright spots on the paws a tad..............Jim

To me this is a nice, classic pose. The biggest thing that jumps to me is beyond your control...that he is sitting atop a sawed stump rather than an all natural setting. Then, given the ubiquitous nature of squirrels, a man-element is certainly natural, so my reaction is totally personal preference.
