Fading Magnolia WC#663

The flowers on the Magnolia tree deteriorate quickly. I have pictures of this flower in pristine white, but this few days old Magnolia fits this WS perfectly.

Shot with a Nikon D200, 1/125 sec @ f/8

Thanks for taking a look and for your comments.

Sanjay: I really like the light on this one. I sometimes struggle with magnolia but here you've taken a mostly spent flower and done something really good with it. 2 thumbs up! >=))>

Fine light and placement of this magnolia bloom, Sanjay. It causes some self examination because while I've shot magnolia blooms in their prime, clusters of leaves, and the seed heads, it hadn't occurred to me to shot a fading bloom, but this has me rethinking that decision.

Lovely light, Sanjay, with the highlights right where they should be. The faded petals really bridge the color range from the dark leaves to the bright white.

As a sidenote, I wish I could like the plant as a front yard specimen but they are a constant litter headache. My neighbor three doors down has two and I'm always picking up the leaves in front of my house.
