I cannot possibly steal the thunder of my friend David Chauvin in this genre, but thought I would throw my hat in the ring with this one. Found this swamp scene on an overcast morning yesterday along I-49 near Natchitoches.

I really like your take on these trees and how different it is from Chavin's. The linear quality and the subtle color composition is really nice. It's almost monochromatic. I wonder how it would look if you made this cooler and had the warmer leaves contrast with it.

The foreground looks a bit fuzzy to me. In fact a crop from the bottom improves it a bit. It emphasizes more the canopy and less the reflection.

Hey Bill,,,,,bits of color from the stubbornly remaining leaves and soft overcast light add to the somber scene. I've been tempted to stop here quite a few times but the light was never too appealing.

Fine shot only looks somewhat oversharp. I wonder if a softening might give the already moody scene even more mystery.
