December 13, 2014 at Blackie's in Newport Beach, California. I spent several hours taking photos of various surfers and got many photos of this fellow, who is a talented surfer. Not until I got the photos on my screen did I realize that he surfed the entire time period with this video camera in his teeth. Who would have thought this young fit, talented fellow and I had so much in common, except the teeth part.

Nikon D4 Nikkor 600mm 1/1250 ISO320 F/8 White Balance Auto RAW Taken on a tripod with a Wimberley Gimbal. Cropped about 15% and pricessed in Lightroom, PSCC2014 and TK.

For those of you who were concerned about how wet I got the last time I took surf photos, this time I stayed completely dry. Your comments are welcome and appreciated.

Interesting, a video camera in his teeth. It has to be tough on the teeth."Only his dentist knows for sure" (for the old guys who remember that ad campaign). I am enjoying your surfing series. .

That's one way to get an action video. Can't tell if he's got a neck strap in case of wipe out... Nice catch on the breaking top of the wave and the various colors in the water.

In other photos of the surfer, it is clear he has a neck strap. There was another surfer that day who had a video camera on the nose of his board pointed backward at him.
