Hi Riccardo, Merry Xmas!
There's lots of nice details and lighting of this Winter scene. The sun is placed in a perfect spot fot the composition. There is a nice feeling of warmth from the sun of the snow in the right foreground and the harsh cold of winter in the blue shadows and dark tree-line ......................Jim

Lovely scene, Riccardo. I sure do like the big sweeping curve of the river(?), the warm light and sparkles in the snow, and the sunburst. Merry Christmas to you.

I like the curving leading line and the warm/cool colour palette. The sky is pretty blown in parts which is the main fault here IMO.

I like the composition and the light - perhaps the trees are a bit too dark? A minor point, though. All the best to you too!

Fantastic leading line with the sweeping curve and the sparkling details in the snow are wonderful, Riccardo. The sunstar is also a nice touch. I always find it tough not blowing out the sky with that much sun so I do not know if yyou can tone that down. My only other suggestion would be to clone out the flare in the middle of the image. Merry Christmas to you also,
Ed

I like the textures, detail and light in the ice and snow. I am having trouble with the sky, but there's not much one can do in this situation other than eliminate it. I agree about cloning out the flare. I think you did pretty well, given the challenging light.

Thank you all for your comments and appreciation! The light was difficult to manage...I was freezing dipped in snow up to my waist with -20°C...I forgot the GND filters in the car and had not much time to take the picture with the sun going quickly down behind the trees. This is what I was able to get...not a major shot but I thougt it was my best way to wish you Merry Christmas. :)

I like this even with the bright sky which I agree is just a wee bit too much. The flare spots neither add nor detract for me but I suspect they could be removed if required. It is of course the detail texture and sparkle that really sings in this.

A very Merry Christmas to you Riccardo,
This image works for me because of the wonderful light play between cool and warm tones, the textures in the snow, and the beautiful composition. I would just clone out the light flares, and call this one good. The sky is a bit hot, but still works for me.
Best of light to you as well.
