So, here is one from a couple of years ago that I managed to ignore until now. I am thinking it might be a little dark with the sun still above the horizon. But, there is a lot of low thin cloud/fog on the horizon acting as a filter. So, I'm not sure. I just processed to personal taste. I like it a bit dark, I think it adds to the mood of the scene. Wondering if you agree or no?

Chris, I like it a lot, but I tend to like dark pictures in general, and it is the way I usually approach my subjects. I suspect that my opinion will be in the minority, but ultimately it is a matter of personal taste. A bit of detail on the seastacks could help. Also, there is a bright thin edge around the seastacks - perhaps a bit too sharp? The colors and mood are beautiful :toast:

First of all, I like this. For me, the silhouetted sea stacks add to the mood of the shot. Good colors in the sky and reflections in the water. The shot conveys a sense of serenity: calmness at the end of the day. I also like the gull on top of the large sea stack. There is some haloing around the sea stacks.

Gorgeous sky, Chris. Both in textures and colors, but color is the dominant attraction of the photo. But the location is pretty good, too. The sea stacks are real nice and make for a nice middle ground. FG isn't as strong but it'll do. As suggested, it might be worth seeing what would happen by opening up the shadows on all those dark rock and the stacks. Just a bit as it in shadow. As for me, I don't think it's too dark. Looks fine. Almost time for the green flash.

Chris, the light in this is very nice, especially in the sky and the water. The dark stacks are fine, but I would like a bit more detail in the near rocks. I am seeing the halo on the stacks, too. You might also consider a crop from the left since the balance of the image is toward the right. However, this does work as it is. Nice, peaceful mood.

Maybe crop a bit from the left, so that the stacks end up in the middle? I'm not too fond of the flare, but what can we do, it's us against the laws of physics, haha. It's a great photo with a really strong mood though, well done!

This works for my taste, Chris. I like the composition and the dark sea-stack serves to balance the vivid color in the sunset. I can actually still see detail in the shadows so I'm not bothered by the deep shadows. I especially like the warm reflections in the water. Nice work!!

I swear I commented on this image this morning but not sure where it went. Oh well, I'll try again. Love the feathery fine details in the clouds which blend nicely with the soft textures in the waves. I concur with the comments regarding the stacks. Didn't notice the halo before, but now that Preston mentioned it, it does stand out a little. Very nice, I can almost hear the waves.

First off, fantastic light, and I love how the light is captured in the water and how the clouds look in the sky. I think all the elements work very well together, and beautiful work on composing this image. The image looks very good to me as presented with the the sea stacks being dark, and thanks for sharing such a beautiful image.

There is a very slight halo around the sea stacks, as others has mentioned Chris. It is not easy to notice though,

Chris: Love the scene and the overall result despite the noted issues. I noticed on the larger version the gull atop the large stack. Nice icing on a very fine cake.>=))>

Chris, This is one beautiful scene. You did a really nice job with the comp and I love the light and color in this. I think your choice of shutter speed worked out perfectly for this scene. Very nice capture!

Chris, I like the image. The dark tones are OK with me as they sets the mood. AS mentioned the FG rocks are a bit grey. Warming them a bit may help. I have mixed feelings RE the flare. It does add interest.

Wonderful light and capture. I like the way you have handled detail levels in the PP. My only criticism is the halo around the stacks.
