The Nest

Sarracenias, State Botanical Garden of Georgia (Athens). I find pitcher plants to be somewhat hypnotic - I guess I'm lucky I don't have six legs....

Shot with natural light in the very late afternoon summer shade.

OM Zuiko 50mm f/1.4 manual focus lens, Olympus EPL-5, 1/5 sec at f/11, tripod

An image full of life, Alberto ! The late afternoon lighting, with its emphasis on the centre of the composition, is just right for suggesting the vitality of these plants. Some nice, sharp detail, too, across the frame. Fine image !!!

I also like the pitcher plant and have tried unsuccessfully to capture its beauty. Very nice shot with good light to provide a little drama to the scene.

Nicely captured, Alberto. I've never seen these in a "nest" before. Excellent detail and light against the dark bg.

Very cool! I've never seen quite such a gathering of these before. Like a tousle of unruly hair but with some order and sense of pattern to the apparently unruly mob... Nice light on them makes for fine detail and some drama. Captivating image.

Your personal interpretation of this pitcher plant is a splendid vision. Composition, sinuous lines and many local stark contrasts create a feeling of fear for two, four and six leg animals. Beautiful image Alberto.

Superb Pick! Congratulations, Alberto. Pretty stiff competition for the Picks in Flora, too, lately. Way to go.
