Sionnet, Switzerland

D300S 150-500 mm at 500 mm f/6.3 1/000 ISO 800 EV +0.67
Tiff file 40% of original frame.
Original shot taken four years ago and processed in Photoshop CS3
The shot was reworked extensively in CS6

Today was wet and overcast so I thought I would cobble this overhead shot, just for fun.
I don’t practice falconry and I can’t imagine why this kestrel found me interesting. It seems as though it was exercising poor judgement and should have been seeking more tender fare!

Your crits. and nits are most welcome

Awesome pose with the spread wings and tail - really neat perspective as well. Unfortunately the image quality just isn't there, as a result of the crop, higher ISO and pushing the 150-500 to its limit. Keep shooting the raptors and eventually you'll get lucky and have them close up.

The colors are good and the action is great. However, the softness on this one is a killer. Keep trying. I have tons of images just like this. It makes it even sweeter when you really nail the focus on one.
