Just finished co-leading another workshop at the Bosque Del Apache that was a large fundraiser for the Friends of the Bosque. I was working with Doug Brown and Roman Kurywczak.

Cooperative weather (one afternoon) with favorable winds and nice light provided many opportunities for our class. I managed to get off a few frames as well. Here's one I enjoyed with a nice wing position on a young snow goose.

Techs:
Canon 7D Mark II
500mm f/4
1/2000 @ f/4
ISO 640

Cropped for composition to about 60% of the original frame.

Very nice two tone background. Interesting wing position also. Perhaps lightening up the goose just a touch. Well done

Jerry and Ken:

Thanks for the feedback. I processed the image on my laptop. Maybe a touch dark so here is a version with a slightly lighter goose. This is an immature so the feathers are not quite white at this point, still kind of gray so maybe that is part of the issue as well. I appreciate the input.

By itself a nice shot. The pose is very interesting; there's an almost human quality to it.

Nice incoming pose Keith with the wings up and feet gear lowered for landing. Really like the two tone BKG, adds interest and also helps separate the subject well. Whites retained well with good tone and definition, even after a crop and compression. The original looks good to me, perhaps a minimal adjustment in Levels to around 250 before clipping, but the overall overcast conditions have really helped. Like the position in frame and techs look spot on.

Good bedfellows Doug & Roman. :toast:

Intense look on the bird's face, gorgeous light and background, this is excellent and fun to look at. Repost definitely hits the mark.

Super action - nice background colors and sharp details. Of course more room at the top would be beneficial.

Beautiful, as usual, Keith.
I liked the wings position, and the clean bg.
